Chief Justice Barbara Madsen has been widely recognized by her peers for her leadership on the bench. Among the numerous honors Barbara has received include:

  • Department of the Army Certificate of Achievement
  • Washington Women Lawyers Foundation Award
  • National Association of Women Judges Special President’s Award
  • Equal Justice Coalition Judicial Award
  • Access to Justice Award of Distinction for Public Service
  • Washington State Trial Lawyers Association Certificate of Appreciation

Barbara also been rated “exceptionally well-qualified” from numerous bar association committees in the past. As this year begins, Barbara plans to ask these groups for support once again.
